--- REVERSE STICKER TECHNIQUE -

With many of our vinyl sticker pages, after the actual sticker is used, the leftover pieces make an rather interesting design (reverse of the sticker itself). Use the following technique to use those pieces as a sticker:

Cut from the sticker sheet, the area of pieces to be used. It helps to have removed the outside waste vinyl. Leave as much space "white space" to one side of the pieces. I'll explaing later why. Cover the pieces with one or more strips of removable Scotch tape (office supply tape). If multiple strips are required, overlap about 1/8". Leave a little extra tape on the side that has the extra "white space". Using the end of your knife handle, rub the pieces, first from the top (through the tape), and then from the back (through the backing). When rubbing from the back, rub hard enough to be able to see the image of the pieces come through. Place this assembly with the tape side against the table and hold the tape on the side where there is extra tape and "white space". This extra "white space" allows you to start the peeling process. Peel back the backing by pulling sideways while at the same time pushing down on the backing to create a very tight curve (do not push flat). You will have to keep moving your fingers or thumb to keep the curve tight. It is this tight curve that makes the pieces want to transfer to the tape. Go slowly to be sure all of the pieces are transferring. If not, go back and rub more and try again. Some very small pieces may not transfer and will have to be added to the design after the others have been transferred. Place the transferred pieces (attached to the tape) on your card, rub again with the knife handle and peel back the tape (if more than one strip of tape was used, remove one at a time) in the same manner as with the backing in the previous step. You can enhance your finished design by placing a sticker of a different color on top of the reverse pieces to give you a two-tone effect. ALWAYS USE YOUR KNIFE WHEN PICKING UP AND PLACING STICKERS. If the sticker is large, you may have to use fingers to help hold and place the sticker.
